The Glades Initiative, Inc. was thrilled to be awarded the Bank of America 2019 Neighborhood Builders award at the official celebration on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at a breakfast held at the Manatee Lagoon. Three of our Board Members, Irene Figueroa, Salesia Smith-Gordon and Julie Swindler were able to attend the event along with our President/CEO, Karis Engle

We were happy to see that in addition to The Glades Initiative award, Habitat for Humanity of PBC was also awarded and will be expanding their housing services in the Glades area.

This incredible award will allow The Glades Initiative to increase access to health and human services, increase healthy food access for at-home seniors, and will assist with the expansion of our recently acquired new building.

Many thanks to Fab Brumley, and her local Bank of America team, for their ongoing support of our work in the Glades!

Bank of America created Neighborhood Builders in 2004 to help non-profits make a bigger impact advancing economic mobility in the communities they serve through building leadership skills, providing flexible funding ($200k) and fostering a peer network.
